About General Jah Mikey

From the album "Once Upon a Time In The West" by Scientist and The Roots Radics.  Out soon on Issue Records. Assistant engineers Brian Wallace and Danny Moon.

General Jah Mikey, born Michael Mitchell, earned his title "Lyrical Ambassador" by performing and awing the masses on soundsystems such as Zodiac, Kilamanjaro, Class One and King Jammy’s to name a few.  His melodic voice & singing style is a combination of dancehall, lover's rock and a blend of today’s hip-hop vibe.  For many fans, Jah Mikey’s lower vocal range evokes the warmth and sultry of Barry White. His singing approach, evokes the hard-core raga-muffin style of many old school roots and culture reggae artists, such as Bob Marley. In addition, the General's music embraces a full range of jazz, rhythm and blues. General Jah Mikey also writes his own lyrics, compose, arrange and produces music for himself and other talented artists in the reggae and hip-hop world.
