Denis Thomas aka King Kong was born March 26, 1962 in Kingston-Jamaica, he grew up with his father after his parents' separation and at the end of the 70s they moved every 2 to Waterhouse; it is at school that the King discovered music. In the early 80s, he began his career in sound systems like many artists during the period "Digital"; he performed as a singer and Deejay in sounds like "Shoes Crashers", "Stereo One," "Socialist Roots". His first steps are done in the studio alongside the Wailers, he attended several rehearsals and later his first title "Pink Eye" will be at Tuff Gong studio. Then he meets King Tubby and this gives rise to the title of the record "This magic moment" and "Step pon corn me". Also for King Tubby, he recorded the "Aids", written song about AIDS and at the same time he recorded "Babylon" to denounce the evils of consumer society. In 1985, he released the famous "Two Big Bull inna one pen" as a duet with Anthony Red Rose will become a big hit. Then King Kong works for Jammy's and takes out his famous album "Trouble again" in 1986 containing dancehall anthems like "Legal we Legal", "Mix up", "Move insame" which is a title dealing with the ravages of cocaine and the same year he released his superb single "Paro paro 'em." Then came the album Musical confrontation with "nitty gritty".

He then recorded for several producers over the years such as Black Scorpio, Harry J., Jazz Bo. Jah Life, Bunny Lee, Gussie P. In 1989, he released on his own label "Conscious Music" single "He Was a friend "in tribute to Tenor Saw.

In 1991, he met Bobby Konders the Massive B label and recorded "Call Mister Madden" to be fraudulently taken over by the Fugees producer for the album "The Score" in the song "Fugee the" King Kong without is receiving a single dollar for this song !!!!!!!!!!!

Several titles for the same producer will emerge ... .In 1997 he recorded the classic "Rumble jumble Life" (Cuss Cuss Riddim on) which will be used to name the album released in 2005 bringing together all securities (old and new) produced by Bobby Konders. In 2000, he collaborated with Linval Thompson and released "Who say?" Which is very successful. That same year he became a member of the spiritual community of the 12 Tribes of Israel, realizing that he shares the same philosophy of life. King Kong resident since 2007 in Ethiopia.

The King still continues to leave some tracks for different producers always carefully choosing riddim on which he will lay his peculiar voice that made his fame !!!
